Important French Late Gothic Stone Fireplace Surround

Of massive proportions, this very early chimney features a very heavy mantel and frieze; the frieze displaying extensive and elaborate hand carved moulding and a center shield, that at one time might have had the coat of arms of the house. The jambs are narrow with sauccion moulding. This will be a fabulous fireplace in a large family room or "Great Room". Firebox: W 66" H 54"
